Meet the Team: Jen Cantwell

Here at Blyncsy, we love our employees! Get to know Jen, our senior engineer. She develops Blyncsy’s embedded software applications. Jen used to work in defense for almost 9 years, writing embedded software for communication systems used in unmanned and manned aircraft. She earned her BS in computer science from the University of Utah.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Coffee first! Then I may go for a run with the dog. Once I get to work, I normally do a quick email and slack check first and then start the development cycle. That usually consists of writing code, testing it, fixing it , and then deploying it to our production environment. There are always bugs to fix after deploying so monitoring the environment is always part of the day.

2. What project of yours are you most proud of?

This is a tough one. I’m proud of every project I have been able to work on at Blyncsy. Blyncsy has been great to work on and watch grow, and the CV projects have been very interesting learning experiences.

3. What is the best part of working at Blyncsy?

The people! I especially enjoy working with the dev team.

4. What is the most unique aspect of Blyncsy’s technology?

Our technology is unique in that it covers numerous aspects of the transportation industry. And each piece of our technology can also integrate with our other products.

5. What’s something new that you have learned about transportation?

There is so much more than I thought that went into the transportation industry! I’ve learned that most DOTs use a number of separate programs to manage their operations. Many of these programs are “old” by technology standards. This is part of the reason I’m excited to work for Blyncsy, we are building helpful products that work together!

6. Where would people most likely find you when you’re not at work?

The mountains! I’m a winter girl at heart, so I’m always dreaming about skiing. But during the warmer months you’ll probably find me running on a trail or biking somewhere.
